Sell It Back: Introducing the Candy ICON Buyback
Every MLB ICON in your collection is now worth Candy Credits. One week. $50K on the table. Fifty spots on the leaderboard.
Every MLB ICON in your collection is now worth Candy Credits. One week. $50K on the table. Fifty spots on the leaderboard.
We've said since the relaunch that everything you've collected with Candy should mean something. Last week, legacy collectibles started earning their keep in quests. Now we're taking it a step further.
Introducing the ICON Buyback: sell MLB ICONs back to Candy for Candy Credits. Every 2026 ICON. Every legacy ICON from 2021 through 2025.
The MLB ICON Buyback Window opens Wednesday, October 7 at 5 PM ET and runs for one week or until $50,000 in Candy Credits have been claimed, whichever comes first. And every ICON you sell back puts you in the running for a Top 50 leaderboard with prizes pulled straight from the Candy vault.
What your ICONs are worth
- 2026 MLB ICONs: $0.50 in Candy Credits each (Base Series, All-Star Game, Gold Series and more)
- Legacy MLB ICONs (2021–2025): $0.25 in Candy Credits each
That adds up fast. 100 ICONs from 2026 gets you $50 in Candy Credits. So do 200 legacy ICONs.
Candy Credits spend on primary drops and auctions on candy.io, so the ICONs you're ready to move can go straight toward the next pack, the next Gold Series reverse auction or the next lot out of the vault.
How it works
- Log in at candy.io.
- Head to the Buyback page, which goes live Wednesday, October 7 at 5 PM ET.
- Pick the ICONs you want to sell back.
- Confirm and approve the transfer from your wallet, and your Candy Credits are added to your account.
ICONs you sell back move to the Candy treasury and stay in circulation, where they can be used for future prizes and rewards.
One week or $50K, whichever comes first
- Window opens: Wednesday, October 7 at 5 PM ET
- Window closes: Wednesday, October 14 at 5 PM ET, or the moment $50,000 in Candy Credits have been claimed
- Credit cap: $50,000 total, across all collectors
If the cap gets hit on day three, the window closes on day three. We'll post updates on how much has been claimed throughout the week on X and in Discord. Don't wait until the last day.
The Top 50 Leaderboard
Every ICON you sell back during the Buyback Window counts toward your spot on the board, 2026 and legacy alike. When the window closes, the top 50 collectors take home physical prizes from the Candy vault, including game-used gear, signed jerseys and signed baseballs. Standings stay under wraps until the window closes, then we'll spotlight the Top 50.
Already burned with us? ICONs you burned during the pre-migration burn window this past May (May 11–20) count toward your rank too. Consider it a head start.
Good to know
- ICONs in unopened packs don't count. Open them first.
- Selling back affects your quests. Once an ICON leaves your collection, it no longer counts toward any Collection Quest. If you're chasing a reward, check your progress before you sell.
- Buybacks are final. Once an ICON is sold back, it's gone from your collection.
- Candy Credits aren't cash. They're promotional platform credits, not U.S. dollars, can't be redeemed for cash, and may not cover taxes, mint fees or network fees.
- Full terms will be live shortly. Questions? Reach us at [email protected] or in Discord.
- Keep an eye out for more details on the upcoming MLB ICON Buyback Window!
