We've said since the relaunch that everything you've collected with Candy should mean something — not just the packs you're opening now, but the stuff you claimed two years ago and haven't thought about since. Migration was step one. This is step two.
Starting today, we're bringing legacy collectibles into quests. Not as a one-off, but as an ongoing part of how Candy works. This is a taste of what's coming.
And since it's October, it only made sense to start with the 2024 MLB Team Ball.
Why the Team Ball
Back in August 2024, fans voted for their favorite team and claimed a free 3D Team Ball for that club. Thirty balls, one per team, and most of you are holding exactly one. The postseason gives them a purpose: twelve teams are still playing, and the bracket is the checklist.
The Quests
Two quests, one for each league. Pick your side — or run both.
American League Quest
Collect any three (3) 2024 MLB Team Balls from the six American League Postseason teams — Rays, Yankees, Red Sox, Guardians, White Sox or Astros — to earn $25 in Candy Credits.
National League Quest
Collect any three (3) 2024 MLB Team Balls from the six National League Postseason teams — Brewers, Dodgers, Braves, Padres, Cubs or Phillies — to earn $25 in Candy Credits.
One completion per quest per account. Finish both and that's $50 in Credits toward your next pack.
How to Qualify
- Opt in on the Quests page at candy.io/quests. Your progress tracks there automatically.
- Check what you've got. If you claimed a Team Ball in 2024 and haven't migrated it to Solana yet, now's the time — it has to be on-chain and in your Candy account to count.
- Find the rest on OpenSea. Team Balls are trading on the secondary market — browse the collection on OpenSea, or on Magic Eden.
- Hold all three in your opted-in account through the snapshot on Friday, November 6 at 2 PM ET, one week after the last possible pitch of the World Series.
What's next
We'll be tracking AL vs NL completions all October, and when someone lifts the trophy, that ball gets a moment of its own. Beyond that: if you've got Rookie Balls, All-Star balls, World Series balls, tickets or anything else from the Candy vault sitting in your collection, don't sell them short. They might just be next.
