Collect the Universe: DC Collection Quests Are Here

Nine weeks. Nine quests. Graded DC cards and comics on the line. Here's everything you need to know about the DC Collection Quest season on Candy.

Your collection is about to go on a mission.

Starting Friday, August 21, Candy is launching the first-ever DC Collection Quest season: nine weekly quests running all the way to October 23, when Clayface hits theaters. Each week has a theme, a published list of eligible DC comics, and a set to build. Complete the set, and a real, professionally graded DC collectible is coming your way.

Not a digital reward that points at a collectible. An actual slabbed, authenticated, graded DC card or comic — pulled live and shipped to your door.

Here's how.

The Reward: Free Pulls on the ComicBook Machine

We've partnered with ComicBook and their collectibles machine — stocked for this season with graded DC trading cards and graded DC comics.

Complete your first quest of the season and you'll earn a free pull. Every pull guarantees a real physical DC collectible: a professionally graded, slabbed DC card or comic, or a rare unopened pack of vintage DC trading cards, revealed live on the machine and shipped to you by ComicBook.com. Every pull is real. Some pulls are grails. Some pulls are still sealed.

Alongside the slabs, the machine is loaded with rare unopened vintage DC packs, sealed since the era when a hologram insert felt like a technological event. These are the packs collectors have hunted for over thirty years, and inside them live the chase cards, the holograms, and the condition rarities that top-grade collectors call holy grails.

Pull a slab and you're holding certified DC history. Pull a sealed vintage pack and you're holding a shot at making some. Rip it, grade it, or leave it sealed forever. Your call. (And if you rip it, film it. We want to see the hologram hunts.)

And the deeper you go, the bigger the pulls get:

Complete your first quest of the season

  • One free $25 pull, issued the moment your first quest resolves

Complete any 5 of the 9 quests

  • One free $50 pull

Complete all 9 quests

  • One free $50 pull, plus entry into the Finale Drawing: ten $250 Legendary pulls, drawn live on October 23
  • Legendary pulls come from the machine's key vault — the tier where the first appearances and grail comics live

How Prizing Works

All pulls happen on ComicBook.

ComicBook operates the machine and is responsible for the fulfillment of all physical prizes awarded on its platform — grading, authentication, packing and shipping, start to finish.

To claim your pull, you'll need an active ComicBook account. Signing up is free and takes about a minute, so if you don't have one yet, set it up before your first quest closes.

When you successfully complete a quest, your ComicBook account will be funded for your promotional pull within 24 hours of the quest closing. Log in, pull, and watch the reveal live on the machine.

Redemption is open to both U.S. and international collectors. Collectors are responsible for shipping and handling costs on all physical items they redeem through ComicBook. International shipping costs will vary and will be determined by ComicBook.

Complete the set on Candy. Pull on ComicBook. Collect in real life.

How Quests Work

Every quest follows the same simple shape:

  1. Each Friday, a new quest opens with a theme and a published list of eligible DC comics.
  2. Build the set. Collect the required number of entries from the list — the list is a menu, not a checklist. You choose which ones.
  3. Hold them at the snapshot. Qualification checks your linked wallet near the end of each window. Complete the set, and your reward is on the way.

A few things collectors will want to know:

  • Duplicates count once. Two copies of the same comic, or two issues of the same series entry, count as a single entry. Sets are built across the list, not stacked in one spot.
  • Your collection carries forward. Many comics appear on multiple weekly lists. A pickup in week two might finish a set in week six.
  • Every Friday is a double beat. The closing quest resolves as the next quest opens, and ComicBook accounts are funded for pulls within 24 hours.

Quest 1: Lanterns (August 21–September 4)

The season opens in sector 2814.

With Lanterns airing weekly on HBO, the first quest is all Green Lantern — and it's deliberately the most approachable quest of the season.

Requirement:

  • Own two classic Green Lantern entries (in any rarity): Showcase (1956-1978) #22, Green Lantern (1960-1986) #59, or All-American Comics (1939-1948) #16
  • Own one modern Green Lantern entry (in any rarity): Green Lantern (2023-) #1 or Blackest Night (2009-2010) #1
  • Hold both in your linked wallet at the quest snapshot

Reward:

  • Your first completed quest of the season earns a free $25 pull on the ComicBook machine

Two books. One ring. Welcome to the season.

Wildcards

Two ways to bend a quest in your favor.

The Collector's Attic — (Details to come)

Each quest names a set of Attic items for the week: Achievements, Sigils, Membership Cards, Super Power Packs and other Candy collectibles. List 3 of the week's Attic items on the secondary market during the window, and it counts as one entry toward your set.

Sitting on duplicates? The Attic turns them into progress — and puts them in front of collectors who need them.

The Bat Cowl Wildcard — Quests 6 and 9 (subject to change)

On two weeks of the season, owning a Bat Cowl (The Bat Cowl Collection) counts as one entry toward the set.

Cowl holders: this one's for you. The Cowl has always meant something on Candy. This season, it opens doors.

The Leaderboard (coming soon)

Every quest you complete builds your season standing.

The Quest Leaderboard on candy.io will track your progress in real time: your current set, your completed quests, and where you stand against the field. Season standings show your path to the 5-quest and 9-quest reward tiers all season long — so you always know exactly how far you are from the Finale Drawing.

Full Season finishers earn permanent placement on the season leaderboard. Forever.

The Finale: October 23

Nine weeks build to one night.

On Friday, October 23 — Clayface opening day — the season closes with the Nightfall quest resolution and the live Finale Drawing: ten Legendary pulls from the key vault, drawn among the collectors who went the distance.

One season. One drawing. Ten Legendary pulls.

One Collection. A Whole Universe of Targets.

Maybe you're two Lanterns from your first pull. Maybe you're a Cowl holder waiting for your weeks. Maybe you're going 9-for-9 and you want your name on that leaderboard for good.

However you collect, there's a quest with your name on it — and a graded DC collectible waiting at the end.

Sprint 1 opens Friday, August 21. New quest every Friday. Full lists drop at launch each week on the Quest page.
