For the first time in Candy’s next chapter, fans can buy and sell eligible Candy digital collectibles on the secondary market.
For the first time in Candy’s next chapter, fans can buy and sell eligible Candy digital collectibles on the secondary market.
This is an important step toward true digital ownership. You can decide what stays in your collection, what you want to list for sale, and what you want to add from another fan. Transactions take place on Solana through Magic Eden, an open digital collectibles marketplace.
If wallets, SOL, and blockchain transactions are new to you, don’t worry. This guide breaks down what you need to know and walks you through the process step by step.
The Quick Version
There are two ways to interact with Candy collectibles on the secondary market:
- Through candy.io: The simplest way to list an eligible collectible for sale directly from your Candy collection.
- Through Magic Eden: The full marketplace experience, where you can browse listings, buy collectibles, and manage your listings using a compatible Solana wallet such as Phantom.
For most fans selling for the first time, starting on candy.io will be the easiest path. Fans looking to buy or use the full set of marketplace tools should use Magic Eden.
First, What Changed?
As Candy collectibles migrate to Solana, ownership is recorded on the blockchain and the collectibles are held in a Solana wallet.Candy automatically creates a Solana wallet for each fan. When you visit your collection on candy.io, Candy reads the eligible collectibles in that wallet and displays them in your account. You do not need to create a wallet just to continue viewing your collection on Candy. You can also import your Candy-created wallet into a compatible wallet app such as Phantom. This does not create a copy of your collectibles or move them somewhere else. It simply gives you another way to access the same wallet and use it with third-party marketplaces such as Magic Eden.During the ongoing migration, your candy.io collection may include items that have not yet completed their move to Solana. Only collectibles that are on-chain will appear and be available to transact on Magic Eden.
A Wallet Explained in Plain English
Think of a wallet as the digital home for your collectibles and any SOL you use for transactions.Every wallet has two important pieces:
- Public address: Similar to an account number. Other people can use it to view activity on the blockchain or send something to your wallet, but it does not give them control of the wallet.
- Private key: The password to the wallet itself. Anyone with your private key can control the wallet and everything inside it.
‼️IMPORTANT‼️
Your private key should never be shared with anyone. Candy Support, Magic Eden, and Phantom will never need you to send them your private key. Store it securely, never post it publicly, and only enter it when importing your wallet into a trusted wallet application.
How to Connect Your Candy Wallet to Phantom
You will need access to your Candy wallet through an external wallet app before you can buy on Magic Eden or use Magic Eden’s full marketplace tools. Phantom is the most straightforward option for most fans.
- Sign in to Candy.io and open the wallet area of your account.
- Select the option to reveal your private key and complete any security prompts.
- Copy the private key and store it somewhere secure.
- Open Phantom and select Add Account or Wallet.
- Choose Import Private Key. Do not select “Create New Account” or “Import Recovery Phrase.”
- Paste your private key, give the account a recognizable name, and complete the import.
- Compare the first and last few characters of the wallet address shown in Phantom with the address displayed on Candy.io to confirm that you imported the correct wallet.
Once imported, Phantom will display the same on-chain Candy collectibles held in your Candy-created wallet.
Option 1: List a Collectible Through Candy.io
This is the simplest way to sell an eligible Candy collectible.
- Sign in to Candy.io and open your collection.
- Select the on-chain collectible you want to sell.
- Choose Sell on Magic Eden.
- Enter your listing price.
- Review the amount you will receive and the total price shown to the buyer, including applicable fees.
- Confirm the listing.
Your collectible will then be listed for sale on Magic Eden. You can follow the link from Candy.io to view the live listing.Candy handles much of the blockchain interaction behind the scenes, making this the most streamlined option for first-time sellers. You can also remove the listing from your Candy collection if you change your mind before it sells. If the collectible sells, it will transfer to the buyer and the proceeds will be sent directly to your wallet. The collectible will no longer appear in your collection once the transaction has been processed.Because the sale settles on the blockchain, your collection or wallet activity may update before a separate sale notification arrives.
Option 2: Use Magic Eden Directly
Magic Eden offers more marketplace visibility and control. You can browse available Candy collectibles, make purchases, create listings, and manage existing listings in one place.Connect Your Wallet
- Visit the official Candy collection on Magic Eden.
- Select Connect Wallet or Continue with a Wallet.
- Choose Phantom.
- Confirm the connection in the Phantom window.
- Sign the login message when prompted.

- Make sure Phantom is connected to the Candy wallet you want to use.
- Browse the official Candy collection and select a collectible.
- Review the listing price, applicable fees, and total cost.
- Confirm that your wallet holds enough SOL for the purchase and the small blockchain transaction cost.
- Select Buy and approve the transaction in Phantom.
After the transaction processes, the collectible will appear in your wallet and in the on-chain portion of your Candy.io collection.List a Collectible
- Open your profile or collected items on Magic Eden.
- Select the Candy collectible you want to sell.
- Choose List and enter your price in SOL.
- Review the transaction and approve it in Phantom.
Magic Eden also allows you to update the price or remove a listing. Each action may require confirmation in Phantom.
Why Do I Need $SOL?
SOL is the currency used on the Solana blockchain. You will need it to:
- Purchase a collectible listed in SOL
- Cover small blockchain costs associated with certain actions
- Create, update, or remove listings after any initial amount provided by Candy has been used
Candy may place a very small amount of SOL in your wallet to help with your first few marketplace actions. After that amount is used, you may need to add SOL to continue transacting. Some listings may also temporarily reserve a small amount of SOL, sometimes called “rent.” That amount is generally returned to your wallet when the collectible sells or the listing is removed.Always review the full amount shown in your wallet before approving a transaction.
What If I Don’t See My Collectible?
There are a few common reasons:
- It is still migrating: A collectible must be on Solana before Magic Eden can display it.
- The blockchain or marketplace is still updating: A new purchase, listing, or removal may take a few moments to appear everywhere.
- The wrong Phantom account is selected: Compare the wallet address in Phantom with the one shown on Candy.io.
- The collectible has sold: Once sold, the collectible will leave your wallet, and the funds from the sale will automatically be sent to the Phantom wallet connected to your Candy account.
- There is not enough SOL in the wallet: Purchases and some listing actions require enough SOL to cover both the transaction and related blockchain costs.
Five Security Rules Every Fan Should Follow
- Never share your private key or recovery phrase with anyone.
- Use only official Candy, Magic Eden, and wallet links.
- Confirm that the correct wallet account is selected before approving an action.
- Read every wallet prompt and review the amount before signing.
- Be cautious of unsolicited messages, links, or offers that appear too good to be true.
Blockchain transactions generally cannot be reversed, so taking an extra moment to verify the details is always worthwhile.
