Candy Community Update: Your New Wallet, Now Powered by MoonPay

The migration of your Candy NFTs and SOL is moving along well. Here’s where things stand, the progress we’re making, and a first look at your new wallet.

Your new Candy wallet is built on MoonPay, one of the most trusted names in the industry. Getting in takes just a few steps: enter your email address, confirm it with a one-time code, and you’re in.

From your wallet, you’ll be able to view your Candy collectibles and your SOL. Once the new system is fully up and running, you’ll also be able to connect your new wallet to marketplaces like OpenSea and Magic Eden.

We’re finalizing internal testing now, and once we’re confident everything works as it should, we’ll begin rolling the new wallets out to the community. We’re also working toward integrating your wallet directly with candy.io, and we’ll keep you updated on both.

No private keys, by design

Here’s the security upgrade: no one holds your private key. Not Candy, not MoonPay, and not even you. Fully non-custodial and in your control, and highly secured. So how does that work?

Your key is generated in shares (using MPC) and secured using  specialized hardware in a solution built by MoonPay for one job: protecting cryptographic keys and using them without ever exposing the full key. The private key never sits on your device, on Candy’s servers, or anywhere it could be copied or stolen. When you buy, sell, or connect to a marketplace, the transaction is signed without reconstructing it in one place.

On your end, it’s simple: sign in to your wallet and approve each transaction whenever you take an onchain action.

We’ll share more details once new wallet access rolls out, including educational content and a livestream walkthrough with the team.

What’s next

Our team’s wallets have already been migrated and tested successfully. Over the next few days, we’ll finish transferring NFTs, then restore the SOL taken from your wallet.

Before any wallet instruction emails go out, we’ll give you a heads-up here and on our official channels so you know what to expect. You’ll then receive an email with instructions to claim your new wallet, including the exact email address tied to it. If you don’t receive one, contact [email protected].

Stay safe

Candy will never DM you, ask for your seed phrase or private key, or ask you to send SOL or NFTs anywhere.
