Every Next Gen pack contains six 2026 MLB Gold Series ICONs—one featuring each player in the complete lineup.Each player has only 36 Gold Series ICONs available across three rarity tiers:

  • 25 Rare ICONs, individually numbered to /25
  • 10 Epic ICONs, individually numbered to /10
  • One Legendary ICON, a true 1-of-1

These are the lowest edition sizes Candy has ever offered for Rare and Epic MLB ICONs. Combined with a one-of-one Legendary for each player, every pull carries serious scarcity.Each pack is guaranteed to contain at least one Epic ICON, with a strong chance of pulling two. With six Legendary ICONs distributed across only 36 packs, every pack also carries a one-in-six chance of containing a Legendary.

Somewhere inside the release is the one and only Legendary ICON for each Next Gen star.

Limited-Edition Inserts

The chase doesn’t stop with the six-player Gold Series lineup.Next Gen packs may also contain one of two special inserts:

  • A Pete Crow-Armstrong Pixicon, numbered to just /5, featuring the iconic Wrigley Field ivy and scoreboard as the backdrop to one of baseball’s most exciting young stars.
  • An Elly De La Cruz Momenticon, numbered to just /5, commemorating his performance on May 31, 2026. De La Cruz went 2-for-2 with a walk, a stolen base and two runs scored—a snapshot of the speed, power and excitement he brings every time he takes the field.

Any pack containing an insert will include seven ICONs instead of six, with the insert added as a bonus ICON.

Introducing Gold Series Collection Quests

Every Gold Series ICON can now help collectors build toward something bigger.

Candy is introducing two Collection Quests spanning all 36 players across the six Gold Series groupings: Power, Next Gen, Rookies, Speed, Aces and Awards.

Quest completion is based entirely on the eligible Gold Series ICONs a collector holds on candy.io. There is no random drawing or chance element.The deadline to complete both quests is November 2 at 2 p.m. ET (subject to change based on auction schedule).

Full Set Collection QuestTo complete the Full Set Collection Quest, collectors must:

  • Collect all 36 players featured across the complete Gold Series
  • Hold at least one Epic or higher ICON from each of the six Gold Series pack groupings

Collectors who complete the quest will receive:

  • A Munetaka Murakami Reward ICON
  • $500 in Candy Credits

Partial Set Collection QuestTo complete the Partial Set Collection Quest, collectors must:

  • Own three ICONs representing any three players from each of the six Gold Series pack groupings
  • ICONs of any rarity may be used toward completion

That means collectors will need 18 qualifying Gold Series ICONs in total—three players from each of the six groupings.

Collectors who complete the Partial Set Collection Quest will receive a Kevin McGonigle Reward ICON.

Reward ICONs will be newly minted and awarded following quest completion. Quest Page and official terms to come.

How the Candy Digital Reverse Auction Works

A traditional auction starts low and rises as bidders compete. A reverse auction moves in the opposite direction.

Next Gen packs will begin at $2,000, with the price automatically decreasing by $100 every 60 seconds. Fans can purchase at the current displayed price or wait to see whether the price moves lower.

But waiting comes with a risk: another collector may decide the current price is right and claim the available inventory first.

That creates a simple strategic choice:

Buy now and secure your packs, or wait for a lower price and risk missing out.

Fans will be able to choose how many available packs they want to purchase at the current price. There will be no limit per transaction, meaning a collector can purchase one pack, several packs or, hypothetically, sweep every remaining Next Gen pack at once.

With only 36 packs available, every purchase will reduce the remaining inventory and raise the stakes for everyone still watching the auction.This is a true art-auction experience that gives fans the opportunity to determine what the collection is worth to them—and potentially own the entire six-player Next Gen release.
