NASCAR has one of the longest and deepest histories in American sports. Throughout its history, timeless legends have been born who have paved the way for a future generation of stars. Among the most well known of these legends is Richard “The King” Petty. His nickname is supported by his resume, as Richard Petty is the NASCAR all-time leader in wins, wins in a season, Daytona 500 wins, and total races, while also being tied for the most championships won. Today, he is an owner of Petty GMS Motorsports, a team which includes Cup Series drivers Ty Dillon and Erik Jones.

Richard Petty’s greatness has transcended racing, as he was awarded the presidential medal of freedom in 1992. He is recognizable in pop culture from his classic powder blue number 43 car, and his unique style, highlighted by his signature hat and sunglasses.

Candy will be releasing a series of digital collectibles honoring the legacy that Richard Petty left on the sport of NASCAR and American culture. The collection will begin with a 1/1 auction beginning on July 19th, followed by limited edition cinemagraphs dropping each week. The cinemagraphs will include footage from a special interview Richard did with Candy discussing his career and accomplishments at the Richard Petty Museum in Level Cross, North Carolina, as well as other images and videos from his racing career. The winner of the 1/1 auction will also receive real life experiences with The King himself.
