The Road to The Root Network: How We’re Migrating Your Candy Collectibles

The Road to The Root Network: How We’re Migrating Your Candy Collectibles

Big changes are coming to Candy — and they’re all designed to future-proof your digital collectibles. As we migrate from the Palm network to The Root Network, we’re rolling out the process in careful, deliberate steps to ensure your collectables remain secure, functional, and ready for everything that comes next.

Here’s a breakdown of what to expect:

Step 1: First Mints on The Root Network

We’re starting with a test: one DC collection and one MLB collection will be minted directly to The Root Network and held in a secure vault. This lets us verify that everything is working properly before continuing the full migration.

Step 2: Full Collection Migration (Vaulted)

Once Step 1 is confirmed successful, we will begin migrating all remaining Candy collections onto The Root Network — also into the vault until the migration is completed. This approach ensures that we don't experience marketplace issues while some collections still live on Palm or are between Palm and TRN. Any new collections launched during this time will mint directly on The Root Network.

Step 3: FuturePass Setup for All Users

Before we can move your collectibles out of the vault, every Candy user needs a valid FuturePass account. This will become your secure digital identity across all open metaverse experiences. If you have one linked to your Candy account, you're all set. If you don't, we will assign one to your Candy account login method.

Step 4: Vault-to-User Transfers

Once all collectables are on The Root Network and every user has a FuturePass, we’ll begin transferring your collectibles from the vault directly into your own account. This marks the moment when you’ll regain full on-chain control.

Step 5: Candy Marketplace Activation on The Root Network

With everything safely migrated and in your hands, we’ll launch the full Candy marketplace experience on The Root Network. This will open the doors to trading, collecting, and exploring.

Why This Matters

We know some of you have questions about self custody and the step-by-step rollout. Here’s why it’s critical:

  1. To keep the marketplace running smoothly while some collections are still split between Palm and The Root Network.
  2. To ensure your collectibles are delivered safely — we can’t transfer assets until all users have a valid FuturePass to receive them.

This multi-step approach allows us to move securely, minimize disruption, and set the foundation for the future of digital collecting.

Thanks for being part of our next chapter. If you haven’t already, please activate your FuturePass today so you’re ready when your collectibles arrive on The Root Network.

FAQs

Q. What happens to my collectibles if I don’t have a FuturePass set up?

A. A FuturePass will be created for you and connected to your Candy account login method. The next time you log into your Candy account, you will be accessing via your new account with all your collectibles safely transferred to you.

Q. Why are collectibles going to a vault first and not directly to the owners?

To ensure a smooth and secure migration, all collectibles are first moved to a vault on The Root Network. This allows us to verify everything is working correctly before transferring assets to user accounts. It also helps prevent issues that could arise while some collections are still split between Palm and The Root Network.

By holding assets in a vault during the transition, we can make sure that marketplaces and trading only happen on a single chain — avoiding confusion and ensuring a reliable and fair experience for everyone. Once all users have a valid FuturePass and the migration is complete, your collectibles will be transferred from the vault to your own account.

Q. How long is this process expected to take?

A. We expect the entire process to be completed in August. Step one is kicking off imminently. We’ll share regular updates as the steps progress.

Q. Will rarity, mint numbers, and other collectible details remain the same after they are transferred to The Root Network?

A. Yes, absolutely. All metadata and collectible traits will be honored and transferred to the new collections on The Root Network.
